Philip B. Adams – Associate Attorney
A Louisiana native for his entire life, Mr. Adams graduated from Northwestern State University of Louisiana with a degree in mathematics with summa cum laude honors. Following college, he attended the Louisiana State University Law Center in 2015 and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree and a Diploma in Comparative Law.
During his time in law school, he academically excelled in criminal and constitutional law classes, earning CALI awards in Advanced Topics in Criminal Law, Sentencing Law, and Corporate & White Collar Crime Law. In addition, Mr. Adams participated in the Louisiana State University Prosecution Clinic, in which he was sworn in as a Special Assistant District Attorney by Hillar Moore, the District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish. While in the clinic, he received intensive instruction in criminal prosecution techniques and assisted in the prosecution of misdemeanors and felonies. Spending over two years working with the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office, he was introduced to courtroom procedure, refined his legal research skills, helped prosecutors prepare criminal cases, dealt with evidence, and assisted with numerous trials. In addition to obtaining criminal prosecution experience, he developed good working relationships with many of the prosecutors in the office, and those relationships have proven invaluable.
After law school and his time as a Special Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Adams was offered a job as an associate attorney with the well-known criminal defense law firm of Damico & Stockstill in Baton Rouge, LA, where he practiced for over two years. While practicing in south Louisiana, he learned from two of the most reputable and experienced criminal defense attorneys in Louisiana. Following his time with the firm of Damico & Stockstill, Mr. Adams decided to return to northwest Louisiana to be closer to his roots and family.
Mr. Adams practices in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury. He has extensive experience in trials, appeals, and post-conviction proceedings. Furthermore, he has broad experience in handling expungements to help clients clear their criminal records. Mr. Adams has successfully handled numerous sex offender registration issues and has detailed experience in the intricacies of sex offender registration law.
In criminal matters, he is passionate about the work that he does and strives to give clients the best representation that he can. Believing that all Americans are entitled to the fullest protections of the Constitution and law, he vigorously works to defend clients through complete investigation of the factual issues in every case, through legal research, and through negotiations or trials when appropriate. In civil matters, Mr. Adams works hard to make clients whole and help them get deserved compensation for the injuries that they sustain. Mr. Adams is comfortable in a courtroom and is strategic about interacting with judges and prosecutors to obtain superb results on behalf of clients. Regardless of what the issues are, he maintains open communication with clients and delivers strong representation to help them get through often difficult circumstances.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading, the outdoors, running, calisthenics, dining at restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
